- WHO WE ARE

About us

Expert guidance. Compassionate care. Trusted by Golden lovers worldwide.

Our Mission

Golden Retrievers are one of the most beloved breeds in the world, and one of the most medically vulnerable. Roughly six in ten Goldens will develop cancer. The breed carries elevated risks of hip dysplasia, hypothyroidism, epilepsy, and serious eye conditions. Yet most of the advice owners find online is generic dog content, written for no breed in particular, by no one in particular.

Golden Retriever Insight exists to close that gap. Every guide on this site is written for one breed, with its specific risks, physiology, and temperament in mind, and every health guide is written and medically reviewed by a licensed veterinarian.

Our Founder

Imran Latif — Founder & Dog Enthusiast

Golden retrievers have a special way of becoming more than just pets, they become family. That belief inspired Imran Latif, a digital marketing professional and passionate dog enthusiast, to create this website as a dedicated resource for the golden retriever community.

As the founder, Imran’s goal is simple: to help golden retriever owners better understand, care for, and enjoy life with their dogs. From everyday care and nutrition to grooming, behavior, training, and general well being, this blog is built around practical information that dog parents can use with confidence.

Imran combines his passion for dogs with his experience in digital content to make helpful information easier to discover and understand. But because responsible pet care requires more than enthusiasm, the website also follows a professional verification process.

Veterinary Review & Fact Checking

Vet check up of Golden Retriever
Written and medically reviewed by a veterinarian

Dr. Akram writes and reviews all health, nutrition, grooming, and breed-care content. Health articles carry a visible “Written & medically reviewed” byline with the date of the most recent review.

Golden Retriever
Checked against veterinary literature

Our guides are verified against current, authoritative sources — including the Merck Veterinary Manual, guidance from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, the Morris Animal Foundation, and peer-reviewed research. Where we cite a statistic, we link the source.

A Golden Retriever Paw
Written for this breed

Generic dog advice can be wrong for a Golden Retriever. Our dosing discussions, feeding amounts, symptom timelines, and risk assessments are framed for a large, deep-chested, cancer-prone breed — because that framing changes the answer more often than owners expect.

Golden Retriever Dog
Kept current

Veterinary knowledge moves. We review and update our most-read guides regularly, and every article shows its last-updated date.

Golden Retriever Insight is an educational resource. It is not a substitute for hands-on veterinary care, and no article here can diagnose your dog. If your Golden is showing urgent symptoms — a seizure lasting more than five minutes, sudden collapse, a rapidly swelling abdomen, difficulty breathing — contact a veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately, before consulting anything online, including this site.

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe something we’ve published is wrong, outdated, or unclear, we want to know. Contact us through our contact page and we’ll review it. Corrections to published articles are made promptly and noted on the page.
